SatsBridge — peer-to-peer bitcoin on Telegram

Buy bitcoin with UPI

SatsBridge is a Telegram bot for peer-to-peer bitcoin trading. Pay a seller by UPI and the bitcoin comes out of a 2-of-3 multisig escrow — no exchange holds the coins, and none holds your rupees, because the payment goes straight from your UPI app to theirs.

§ 01
Spec

What a UPI trade looks like here

Currency
INR
Settlement window
4 hours — how long you have to pay before the trade can be disputed
Chargeback risk

Trade size
12,500 sats minimum, 1,500,000 sats maximum (0.000125–0.015 BTC)
Seller publishes
Their UPI ID (VPA) and account holder name, revealed to you only after both deposits confirm
Your cost
0.70% if you take an existing offer, 0.10% if you post your own and wait
Your bond
15% of the trade, refunded in full when the trade closes cleanly

On a 0.01 BTC trade that works out to 7,000 sats if you took the offer, or 1,000 sats if you posted it.

§ 02
Sequence

Buying, in order

  1. YouFind a sell offer priced in INR on the UPI rail, or post your own buy offer and wait for a seller to take it.

  2. BothAgree to start. The price freezes at that moment and a fresh escrow address is derived.

  3. BothFund the escrow. The seller sends the bitcoin plus their bond; you send your bond only. You are not sending rupees yet.

  4. YouOnce deposits confirm, the seller's UPI ID appears. Pay it from your own UPI app and mark the payment sent. You have four hours.

  5. SellerConfirms the rupees arrived, signs the payout, and the bitcoin plus your bond lands at your payout address.

§ 03
Risks

What can actually go wrong

The seller claims the money never arrived. Open a dispute. Your UPI reference number and the timestamp are the evidence, and the coins stay locked while it is reviewed.

You pay the wrong UPI ID. Nothing in escrow protects you from that. Copy the ID from the trade screen rather than typing it, and check the account holder name your app shows against the one on the trade.

Your bank flags the transfer. Banks in India sometimes question transfers they associate with crypto. This is between you and your bank; the escrow is unaffected and the settlement window gives you four hours to sort it out.

You go quiet after funding. The seller can dispute, and your bond is what an arbitrator can award against you. Do not fund a trade you are not about to pay for.
